Privacy Policy – Kingsmere: Chess Master
Last updated: 16 October 2026 (version 1.0.0)
- No account and no sign-in. Falcon Peak Labs does not receive or store any personal data about you.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some device data to show and measure those ads (details below). Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and Switzerland), you are asked for consent before any ad is requested.
- There are no in-app purchases and the game never asks for payment.
- Your games, rating, puzzle progress, Daily Puzzle calendar, lessons, collection and settings are kept only on your own device.
- The chess engine, the puzzles and the lessons run entirely on your phone. Your moves are never sent anywhere.
Who we are
Kingsmere: Chess Master (the "game") is a chess game for Android made by Falcon Peak Labs ("we", "us"). You play against the game's own computer opponents, solve puzzles, take lessons, or play a friend on the same phone. This policy explains what happens to information while you play.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, files, messages or location, and the game sends us nothing about you or the games you play.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Ads come from Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited: a small banner at the bottom of the screen while a game, puzzle or lesson is on the board, an occasional full-screen ad after a game has ended, and optional rewarded videos you choose to watch (an extra hint, an extra takeback, double coins after a win, or unlocking a board or piece set early). To deliver, limit and measure these ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the game collects and sends to Google:
- Device identifiers such as the Advertising ID (and, where available, the app set ID);
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address;
- Ad interactions, such as which ads were shown or tapped;
- Diagnostics, such as ad loading performance and crash reports from the ad SDK.
Google uses this information to serve and measure ads, to prevent fraud and, with your permission, to personalise ads. How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID and turn off ad personalisation in your phone's Settings (Google > Ads, or Privacy > Ads).
Your consent
Where consent is required (such as the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), Google's consent form appears on first launch, before any ad is requested. You can change your answer at any time in the game under Settings > Privacy choices. If you decline, non-personalised ads may still be shown where the law allows.
No purchases
There are no in-app purchases and no payment or billing features. Coins are earned by winning games, solving puzzles and finishing lessons, or by choosing to watch a rewarded video.
Data saved on your device
So you can carry on where you stopped, the game stores on your device only:
- a game in progress (its moves and clocks), your rating and its history, and your results against each level;
- your puzzle rating, the puzzles you solved, your best puzzle streak, your Daily Puzzle calendar and streak;
- the lessons you finished, your coins, and the boards and piece sets you own and use;
- how many free hints you used today, and when the game last asked you to rate it;
- your settings (sound, music, vibration, how you move pieces, what the board shows, graphics quality).
This data never leaves your device. It is removed when you uninstall the game or clear its app data. If Android's device backup is switched on, that backup may include it; it is then handled by Google under your Google account settings, not by us.
Permissions
The game uses the internet connection (to load ads, and to download the list of our other games shown under "More Games" - a plain file that sends no personal data), the Advertising ID permission (for ads) and vibration (optional haptic feedback, which you can switch off in Settings). Chess, puzzles and lessons work fully offline; ads are simply not shown then.
More Games
The "More Games" page lists our other games. To label a game you already have with "Open", the game asks Android whether those games of ours are installed. That answer stays on your device. Tapping a game opens its Google Play page or the game itself.
Puzzles
The puzzles are built into the game. They come from the Lichess puzzle database, which its authors have released into the public domain; the game does not connect to Lichess.
Children
The game is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly allow ads to collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
