Tavlora: Backgammon Classic – Falcon Peak Labs

Pull up a cushion in a lantern-lit bazaar. An inlaid walnut board, the click of ivory checkers, dice tumbling across the felt - and a rival waiting across the table.

Tavlora is backgammon with full, correct rules and a computer opponent that plays real backgammon: it counts pips, weighs every blot and looks ahead at your possible rolls.

THREE GAMES IN ONE

Backgammon: hits, the bar, bearing off, gammons and backgammons, and the doubling cube with the Crawford rule
Long backgammon (Narde): everyone runs the same way and every checker blocks
Plakoto: no hitting - land on a lone checker to pin it, and guard your mother checker

CAREER: 4 VENUES, 8 RIVALS

The Rooftop Terrace, the Spice Market, the Fountain Court and the Carpet Palace
24 bouts of 1, 3 and 5 points; each venue brings something new: the cube, Plakoto, Long backgammon
Every rival has a style and a few words for you; three stars to earn in every bout
